AOPHA's mission is to be Ohio's resource for advocacy, education and promotion of public awareness on behalf of not-for-profit providers pursuing excellence in serving older adults. To fulfill this mission, AOPHA has assembled a knowledgeable and dedicated staff to assist members, the public, elected officials and the media with questions, concerns and inquiries on not-for-profit services for older Ohioans. John Alfano, President/CEO

  • Oversees staff and daily operations
  • Promotes AOPHA's position and public policy goals to elected officials
  • Responsible for implementing AOPHA's strategic direction
  • Works with AOPHA Board of Directors

  • Manages membership recruitment and retention, including value-added group programs
  • Manages vendor arrangements and maintains relationships with corporate partners, including the sponsor and sustaining firm programs

David Paragas and Bridget McAuliffe: Advocacy Consultants
  • David, a partner with Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Columbus office, and Bridget, a lobbyist within the same office, serve as AOPHA’s lead legislative and regulatory representatives and grassroots coordinators
